Sadly the request to review the purchase arrived much faster than the purchase itself.
I ordered a Buchanan Muted Tartan Deluxe Kilt that my wife picked for me. The process was quick and easy as usual. I have purchased many kilts from AK, close to fourteen i think. AK has been great to me, and fixed the one problem that i had to the point of not being even, but they put me one up. Now, this last order took some extra time, and it is not that Ak did anything wrong (though at a time i was getting concerned) i think it was just the timing. I ordered it dec. 26, just after ownership had changed hands, and i am sure there was a lot of behind the scenes that was still going on, and Christmas had just ended. Then ya pitch in canada post, a long weekend, and new years, and you can see this was a delay just waiting to happen. All this out of the control of mere mortal man. It took about 4 weeks and a bit longer than usual, but i did get it April 22.
Please remember this, for AK this is not the norm, and for those waiting for stuff, they will come, just a little slower if you were like me and chose to at the time i did.
Hay Affordable Kilts, love the kilt. My wife knows it's getting about time to order a new one as she sees how i'm looking at my two boys. We had about 14 more kids, but but now i have 14 kilts. Yes my wife does not like it when i sell one of the kids for a kilt, but a kilt is a kilt. To those that read this i hope it helps. A great affordable kilt that even a Canadian can afford.
I have not received my product. I have called many times in the past weeks with no response.
Zero stars. The kilts did not arrive. It has been months. Beware of extreme time delays. Will update if our items ever arrive.

I ordered a kilt in dec of 23. As of April 16th 24. I have not received my order. The tracking number they provided does not work. Will be pursuing refund. Absolutely horrible experience.

I have my family tartan, the Pride tartan, the Black Watch tartan, and, now, the Maple Leaf tartan, and, as always, I am very pleased with both the quality of the product and the quality of the service.
I confess: I'm attracted to many of the tartan kilts I see. My Smith modern kilt is one of them. I like tartans that are not too fussy with the stripes and have large blocks of color in the pattern and Smith modern has all those qualities. I got a bit anxious waiting for the delivery thinking it might have gotten lost somewhere, but it ended up on my doorstep in fine condition.
Amazing tartan, the colours are beautiful and the fit is perfect. Bravo et merci !
My second purchase from AK. I purchased a Fly Plaid and pin to go with the kilt I bought a few months back. Once again I’m very pleased with the quality for the price. The order took twice as long as originally promised which is not that big of a deal but the lack of communication bothers me a lot. My first order was also a bit late but I received frequent emails keeping me updated on the progress. When this order was two weeks late, I sent an email to check on it. I sent several more emails in the coming weeks with no response but finally did get a response. No apology or mention of the failure to answer my request but a notice that it would ship within the next two weeks and it did. Very happy with the product and I’ll order again but I’m a bit concerned with the lack of communication.
Took a long while for my order to arrive. I got in touch with the new owner (Chris) and he replied immediately.
When the kilt did arrive, I was pleasantly surprised. The kilt (Anderson tartan) is very good quality and fits like a glove. It looks great on and I can't wait to get out and about in it.

Decent Kilt for the money. To be sure, not full traditional Kilt but a nice lighter version. pleat depth is a little less than expected.
When ordering give yourself adequate lead time before it is actually required. The standard lead time is 8 to 10 weeks. I ordered the Kilt on October 26th and received it on February 6th.

I found the jacket and vest of adequate quality and styling. The one caveat is, you get what you pay for. It worked for its intended purpose, but do not look for long lasting durability I would surmise.
